Becoming a Leading European Network for Innovation in Teacher Education
A key principle of the projects in EDiTE is its collaborative character. Strong institutional partnerships are built with schools, research and development institutes, as well as government agencies - seen as key partners in promoting quality and relevance in teacher education and research. The Knowledge Portal serves as a networking tool conducive to knowledge sharing and building the leading community in european teacher education on a transnational and trans-institutional base.

We welcome you to the Knowledge Management Portal of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme: The European Doctorate of Teacher Education (EDiTE). As you explore the portal you will encounter vibrant research communities that are tied to the five partner universities involved in this program. Their research is dedicated to the EDiTE’s theme of Transformative Teacher Learning for Better Student Learning Within an Emerging European Context. Please meet the researchers from around the world and their home institutions through which they acquire the doctorate of EDiTE. The University of Innsbruck, Austria; the University of Lisbon, Portugal; the Eötvös Lorand University, Hungary; The University of Lower Silesia, Poland and Masaryk University, Czech Republic proudly invite you to choose the following options for navigating through the portal. There are four fields of entry from which you can choose.

Networking

Get to know our doctoral researchers and their work. Explore the personal profiles which include areas of academic interest, theoretical and methodological frameworks as well as recent and prospective research activities. Make use of the contact information given and get in touch to receive more details in areas of interest to you.

Communicating

This area allows for fast and easy communication tracks between researchers. Here, work in progress can be displayed that invites critical feedback and fruitful discussion. Each of the five universities frame EDiTE’s overall research topic in their own ways. Come and explore the different approaches and academic traditions at hand.

Organizing

Enter this section of the portal and you will find out more about upcoming events that the EDiTE community plans to be involved in. Here, we post information concerning the academic and also the public world of Teacher Education. Interesting conferences, call for papers on the respective topics can also be accessed here.

Building Community

As an online collaborative space the portal invites external partners to connect via the Knowledge Portal. We would like to encourage cooperation between our partners and offer our own contributions to research as a source to anyone who might see our work fit to develop their own practical and theoretical approaches.

The theme of the EDiTE program, Transformative Teacher Learning for Better Student Learning Within an Emerging European Context, draws on the deep interdependence of educational research and practice.
